In a twist of fate, a man is thrust into the spotlight for his drag queen debut. With advanced age, abundant body hair, and limited talents, he is an unlikely candidate. Clown, drag, and magical realism fuel a whimsical quest accompanied by delightful music and colorful outfits as he discovers it’s never too late to embrace your true self. ‘A Drag Is Born’ is a multi-awarded, nonverbal celebration of queer discovery and acceptance created and performed by Edu Díaz, a Fulbright-awarded artist from The Canary Islands. It is supported by the Spanish Consulate in New York City.
